Sounds of Bekool's next guest Dj is Nicolas Soria from Argentina. We asked him a couple of questions about his musical inspirations and aspirations.
You've been active since 2010. How has your career changed since then?
My career has changed a lot since 2010, mainly due to my musical tastes. At first, I DJ'd at birthday parties and all kinds of events. Then, in 2014, I decided I only wanted to DJ electronic music, and since then I feel I've accomplished a lot, although there's still much to come.
Coming from Tierra del Fuego, do you feel your origin shapes your artistic identity in any way?
Absolutely, in fact, many of my productions are referenced from where I live. My city definitely inspires me a lot.
You run several labels. How does label work influence your creativity?
Yes, I have three labels, although Anoka will always be my main one. My creativity comes from various sources, and I try to use those sources not only for production but also to help me give Anoka its own identity.
What do you know about Hungary? And what kind of set are you putting together for the Balatonica show?
Honestly, I don't know much about Hungary. I dream that music will one day take me there so I can visit. I prepared a mix like the ones I've been making lately, where I always start with a warm, melodic, and relaxed organic house track, gradually building up to an energetic progressive sound that ends with music.
What's on your playlist when you're not listening to electronic music?
I definitely love listening to all kinds of music. When I'm not listening to electronic music, I listen to a lot of Eminem; he's one of my favorite artists. I also enjoy listening to The Doors.
What's been inspiring you lately?
My greatest source of inspiration will always be my daughter. I'm very fortunate; I've been producing music since she was a baby, and now that she's six, she's always asking me to play my music or telling me she likes it. It's impossible not to be motivated by my daughter's words.
How will you celebrate the New Year?
I will celebrate New Year's with my family. I am a person who really enjoys spending time with family, so it will be a very peaceful start to the year for me.
